Middlesbrough are interested in Peterborough United forward Ricky-Jade Jones, Express Sport understands.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer, but because of his age, Posh would be due a compensation fee even if he runs down his deal.

Cardiff City are also keen on Jones, with manager Omer Riza openly admitting that club-to-club talks have taken place.

But a deal with the Bluebirds is far from done and Boro are still in the hunt for Jones, who is one of the fastest players in the EFL.

The youngster has bagged 11 goals in all competitions this season, including four in two FA Cup games.
