Six Nations LIVE: England star reveals plan vs Wales as Ireland players ‘abused’ | Rugby | Sport

Simon Easterby has fumed at the comments made by France boss Fabien Galthie in the aftermath of Antoine Dupont’s injury against Ireland.

Easterby has revealed that his players have suffered abuse after Galthie called the actions of an Irish duo “reprehensible”.

Dupont was injured after Irish forwards Tadhg Beirne and Andrew Porter cleared out of a ruck.

Galthie branded the actions of Beirne and Porter “reprehensible” and reported them to the match’s citing commissioner, but no action was taken.

Easterby is furious with the post-match actions of the French, saying: “Without getting myself into trouble here, I just think it’s the game unfortunately.

“No player goes out to intentionally injure another player. For everyone, or for the majority of people watching, looking at it afterwards, everyone felt like it was a rugby incident which was really unfortunate.

“Whatever the insinuations were from different people post-game, it’s disappointing because the unfortunate thing is people who don’t really understand the game pick up on it.”
