Ring doorbell is better than half price in Amazon sale

Amazon is offering a huge discount on a Ring video doorbell, providing peace of mind for you and your household for less. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is a battery-powered security camera that lets you see, hear, and speak to anyone at your front door from your device.

Amazon is selling the Ring Video Doorbell 3 for £69.99, down from £159.99. Elsewhere, House of Fraser is selling the Ring Video Doorbell 3 with Chime Bundle for £189.99. Currys has the alternative Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus for £97.99.

Not only is the Doorbell 3 a great device for keeping your home safe from potential intruders while you’re away, it’s handy if you have frequent deliveries, as you can instruct the driver where to leave your parcel. It’s also useful if you have friends and family who drop in often – if you’re not home, you can speak to them through the doorbell and let them know when you’re likely to be back.

The Doorbell 3 is an upgraded version of the Doorbell 2, offering improved motion detection and dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity. The gadget sends you instant notifications when anyone presses your doorbell or triggers the built-in motion sensors.

You can answer your door from wherever you are with Two-Way Talk, or you can save time by using the Quick Replies option to respond with a pre-selected message. Amazon’s Ring Video Doorbell 3 is easily mounted to your wall using the tools included and you connect it to your Wi-Fi through the Ring app.

The Doorbell 3 comes with brand-new features, including the Advanced Motion Detection and Near Motion Zone which allows you to adjust your motion detection area, ensuring you only receive notifications when you want. This also helps to save the battery life of the device.

If you have an Alexa-enabled device, you can pair the video doorbell to it and set up notifications so that you can be notified when your doorbell is pressed or motion is detected. As well as the device itself, Amazon provides a 30-day free trial of the Ring Protect Plan which enables you to record, review and share any moments you missed. After the 30-day free trial period, you have to pay for the plan via a subscription.

Over 7,600 Amazon shoppers have reviewed the Ring Video Doorbell 3 so far, with the device scoring an average rating of 4.5 out of five. One customer wrote: “It’s a very good product for security. It’s easy to install and maintain and allows you to answer your door, if at home or away. The doorbell has detected intruders on a number of occasions and using the ring spotlight and camera with a built in alarm enabled me to scare the intruder away. The doorbell works very effectively and virtually no delay to alerting you to the caller or intruder.”

A second simply added: “Good innovation. Definitely a must-have product.” Sadly someone else wasn’t completely satisfied, as they explained: “It was good at first but after around 10 months the battery needs changing every other day and it sometimes doesn’t even notice you leaving the house.”

Another shopper, however, gave the Ring doorbell five stars and commented: “After parcels being stolen multiple times in my block of flats along with antisocial behaviour and someone breaking into my post box to commit identity fraud, I decided to get this. I just wish I’d got one ages ago. Already captured and appeared to deter someone two weeks ago who looked suspicious coming up to my floor looking for something. Was a little worried about performance as I’ve seen comments about poor Wi-Fi signal and problems with notifications and the app, but mine is working perfectly. My Wi-Fi is 20 feet away and I’ve had no issues, it’s easy to set up, and there’s only a one second lag between live view.”

You can buy the Ring Video Doorbell 3 from Amazon for £69.99. House of Fraser is selling the Ring Video Doorbell 3 with Chime Bundle for £189.99, while Currys has the alternative Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus for £97.99.

If you fancy trying another brand of video doorbell, Amazon is selling the Blink Video Doorbell for £38.99. Argos has the Arlo Essential HD Wi-Fi 4-in1 Smart Video Doorbell for £89.99.
