How to make Jamie Oliver’s ice cream without machine

When temperatures rise, we all look for ways to cool down.

And what better way to embrace summer like tucking into a bowl of ice cream? This year you can make your own thanks to a speedy recipe by Jamie Oliver.

The TV chef’s secret to speedy and delicious strawberry ripple ice cream has been revealed, and it’s super easy. In a TikTok video Jamie simply took 600g of strawberries and chopped them up.

He then put 100g of white sugar into a pan and carmelised it before adding the strawberries, and turning it into a simple sauce. Around five minutes on a high heat is “all you need”, according to the cooking professional.

Jamie put the sauce through a sieve before moving onto the next stage. And fear not, as you don’t need a churner to whip up the frozen treat.

Next, Jamie said to put 600g of double cream into a bowl before adding a teaspoon of vanilla paste. He then whisks it together until it thickens.

When this is done, he adds a tin of condensed milk, and flakes 50g of meringue pieces into the mixture. Jamie then pops it into a dish, and adds a little of the strawberry sauce on the top.

All that’s left to do is pop it in the freezer for around four hours. When you want to tuck in, simply move it into the fridge for around 45 minutes, and you’ll be left with the perfect ice cream.

Sweet, summery and delicious – it’s the ultimate way to cool down on a hot summer’s day. Moreover, it’s super easy to make too.

Since he shared the recipe, Jamie’s fans have been raving about it. They can’t believe how easy it is to whip up such a tasty frozen treat.
