‘Very stylish’ £26 M&S trousers are ‘beautifully made’

Finding the perfect pair of trousers that can be dressed up and dressed down is no mean feat. But now, M&S might have the perfect pair – one which shoppers are praising as ‘beautifully made’ and ‘easy to wear’.

The M&S Slim Side Zip Flared Trousers cost £26 and come in two colours: black and chocolate brown. Getting trousers that fit properly isn’t always easy, but this pair comes with plenty of options – sizes six through to 24 (although not all sizes are currently available), as well as different alternatives for the inside leg length: short/petite, regular and long. 

These stylish trousers have a pressed creased front and a flared silhouette. Paired with a shirt and a blazer they’re the ultimate addition to your work wardrobe, but they could just as easily be worn with a white t-shirt and trainers for a weekend look. 

Made from a mix of polyester, viscose and elastane, the trousers have a slight stretch to them, meaning they’re comfortable to wear all day long. Even better, shoppers needn’t make a trip to the dry cleaners with them, because they can be washed at 40°C delicate and ironed at a low temperature.

For an even looser silhouette, shoppers could look to New Look’s Black Wide Leg Pleated Trousers, which cost £25.99. This style comes in a variety of colours, from black to light blue, and has a matching waistcoat on offer to fully complete the look.

Alternatively, there’s River Island’s Black Belted Straight Leg Trousers for £42. Coming in three colours – black, khaki and navy – these trousers have a crisp seam down the front and a skinny belt to go with it.

However, shoppers are singing the praises of the M&S Slim Side Zip Flared Trousers, which have earned a 4.5 star-rating from nearly 100 reviews. One customer said: “These slim flared trousers are just so beautifully made, look so stylish with any top I wear, get so many compliments. So very easy to wear and do not crease easily. They wash well too, I just love these. Bought both colours and spares too.”

Another said: “Love them… They are a true fit and look really smart for daytime, night out or work.” While a third chimed in: “These trousers are a perfect fit and look very smart. The fabric is good quality and they feel & look a lot more expensive than they actually are. I loved them so much I’ve also bought them in black.”

However, some shoppers had some slight critiques on the sizing. “Nice weight trousers and elasticated waist is very comfortable. Just too long and way too wide for me,” noted one. While another said: “Could do with a little more tailoring but good value. Side zip good for tummy area reduction.”
