Trinny London launches new eye cream that aims to ‘slow down ageing’

Trinny London has launched its first-ever eye cream which is said to soften fine lines and slow down signs of ageing.

Despite previously not believing in eye creams, founder Trinny Woodall introducted the Take Back Time formula, £65, on social media and explained how it took the team three years of research and trials to perfect the formula to boost the core mechanisms within the skin.

The innovation milestone targets the vulnerable skin around the eyes, which ages up to 10 years faster than the rest of the face due to the slow renewal processes and that can result in stubborn lines, deep crow’s feet and dark circles.

Trinny, 60, shared on Instagram: “As much as I said I would never use an eye cream, but secretly I wanted to do one. I’ve just never found the ingredients until we discovered some longevity research into miniproteins and their effect on slowing down the ageing process. It’s the perfect ingredient to build our formulation for Take Back Time.

Take Back Time deals with the past, the present and the future you. The past you with all the damage that’s been done, and is where our two miniproteins start to work in slowing down the ageing process, so your lines will reduce over time.

“The present you is you wake up with dry eyes and you look tired, there is no hydration there. So we put in the most advanced form of hyaluronic acid called pro-derma hyaluronic acid, it goes twice as deep around your eye area. You’re going to get hydration that really lasts. It’s like giving your eyes a bath they can ever wish for.

“Now the future you is about the things that happen today and affect how you look in the future – it’s the stress of the day, the lack of sleep, inflammation. Hexapeptide-8 and ashwagandha are the perfect combination to deal with these issues.”

Clinical trials showed that in four weeks, users noticed a visible reduction in crow’s feet and under-eye lines, and with a continue use of 12 weeks, the eye cream also improved eyelid sagging and eye bags.

While there’s no customer reviews yet, fans have mixed feelings about the £65 new product. One said: “It looks good but expensive.”

Another commented: “I’m curious because in the bathroom videos from five to seven years ago Trinny always said she saw no point in eye serums/creams.”

But some were excited to try, with one saying: “If it’s anything as good as your neck cream it will be phenomenal.” And a second echoed: “I’m really impressed with the neck cream, so hoping this will be as magic.”

The Trinny London Take Back Time eye treatment is available to purchase for £65 but if you are looking for something less expensive, Evenswiss’ Rejuvenating Eye Complex is a vitamin-rich, non-greasy cream and available at Dermoi for £37.

Amazon Prime members can also buy Medik8’s Advanced Night Eye on Prime Big Deals Day with 20% off, bringing down its price to £33.60 from £42.
