Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd close on star, Chelsea strike agreement | Football | Sport

Arsenal are set to make a ‘big’ offer to test RB Leipzig’s resolve over Benjamin Sesko as Mikel Arteta attempts to land a striker before the deadline.

The Slovenian forward is the Gunners’ top target in January, although the German outfit are insistent he won’t be leaving this month.

Sesko, 21, is widely reported to have a gentleman’s agreement with the Bundesliga outfit to leave in the summer. But Arsenal want to speed up his timeline, per The Mirror, and are readying a big offer.

Arsenal have remained in touch with their German counterparts and are believed to be front-runners despite growing interest in the striker, with the belief that an offer of £60m could be enough to tempt them.
