Tiger Woods hints at PGA Tour return with cryptic eight-word message | Golf | Sport
Tiger Woods could be set for a return to the PGA Tour, with the legendary golf ace hinting at a comeback. The American has been recovering from his latest back surgery, having gone under the knife for a seventh time at the back end of 2025.
Now into his fifties, there were question marks over whether Woods would ever pick up a club on the PGA Tour again. But during a televised appearance at the TGL, Woods gave an update surrounding his proposed return.
When asked how close he is to a competitive return, Woods responded: “Playing a Member-Guest, I’m good to go.”
The somewhat cryptic reply raised eyebrows, but some have theorised it could be a reference to the upcoming Seminole Pro-Member event later this month.
The only problem with that suggestion is that Woods is not currently in the field for this year’s Seminole Pro-Member. That could change at short notice, however.
But as far as PGA Tour starts are concerned, we might have to wait a little longer before the 50-year-old is back on the course. There have been some claims that the Masters could be his first start of 2026, with the annual Augusta showpiece kicking off on Thursday, April 9.

It would all depend on his recovery from injury, with Woods having last provided a health update in January. He said at the time: “I’m moving up to short irons, so that’s about it,” Woods said. “I need a little bit more than that to be able to play [on TGL]. At my speed right now, I could probably play the Stinger hole.
“Just kind of roll it off the tee. But no, I’m progressing, which is nice. I’m getting there and getting stronger. It’s just one of those things where it just takes so much time for the bone to heal and the bone to set.”
Before adding: “It’s just one of those things where each and every day, I keep trying, I keep progressing, I keep working on it, trying to get stronger, trying to get more endurance in this body and trying to get it at a level at which I can play at the highest level again.”
