Taylor Swift says British ex was ‘wrong guy’ for her in on-stage confession | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Taylor Swift shocked fans during her concert in Paris by implying her ex, Joe Alwyn, was the “wrong guy” as she spoke to the crowd on stage.

The globally adored singer swayed crowds while performing in Paris as part of her European Eras world tour with a particularly emotive end to her song singing: “Long story short it was the wrong guy.”

She movingly concluded with “long story short I survived.”

Swifties immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the stirring performance – all believing she was referencing her British ex-boyfriend, Joe.

One fan gushed: “The way she ended one of her most heartbreaking songs with long story short it was the wrong guy… long story short i survived.”

Another enthused: “I can’t deal.” A third admirer opined: “The end to that song. Wow.”

A fourth simply agreed: “Epic. The emotion behind that song is clear.”

Many already believe Taylor’s recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, features tracks about Joe and one of the London pubs they used to attend.

Staff at The Black Dog pub in Vauxhall, London, even confirmed “we have a certain blonde regular” who frequents their bar.

Since being name-dropped in track 17 of Swift’s new record which has swept the globe, the venue has been flooded with Taylor’s fans purchasing pint glasses as keepsakes.

Lily Bottomley, 24, from S C Soho, the hospitality group that owns the Black Dog, told South London Press: “We know the song is about one of her ex-boyfriends and without giving too much away, I will say we have had a certain blonde regular in a few times.”

Swifties are abuzz with excitement as they’ve been piecing together clues about the mystery man in Taylor’s songs. The debate rages on whether it’s about Matty Healy or Joe Alwyn, who has not only been her beau but also a collaborator on her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore.

Some fans speculate the lyrics could hint at her fleeting romance with The 1975’s lead singer Matty.

In the track in question, Taylor sings: “I am someone who until recent events you shared your secrets with and your location. You forgot to turn it off. And so I watch as you walk into some bar called The Black Dog.”

Lily also discussed the unexpected surge in interest the pub received after Taylor’s song dropped, adding: “It all started on Thursday after the leaks.

“I saw it on Twitter myself and thought it was a coincidence but then it just exploded.

“We set up a TikTok account and within 72 hours we had more than two million views and our Instagram following tripled.”
