Snooker LIVE: Ronnie O’Sullivan sets retirement deadline as banned star returns | Other | Sport

Ronnie O’Sullivan has revealed that he could retire from snooker in two years’ time if he is not able to rediscover his spark.

Having not featured for the past few months, it is unclear whether the 49-year-old will complete in this month’s World Championship.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, O’Sullivan opened up on his retirement plans, saying: “I’m not quitting just yet, but I will give myself two years to try and figure it out. I don’t want to finish my career feeling like I wasn’t really performing to the level that I know I can. I don’t have to win tournaments, but I just want to feel like I’m enjoying the game. I’d like to go out with a smile on my face.

“Do I think I can do it? Probably not if I’m being honest. I think it’s probably a bit too late in my career and I’m probably damaged goods in the form of a snooker player.”
