Shoppers thank ‘comfy’ M&S linen trousers for ‘loads of compliments’

Linen trousers are making a comeback this spring and summer, with the relaxed style popping up in shops again. We’ve spotted a pair from M&S that’s getting rave reviews from shoppers. The Linen Rich Pleated Wide Leg Trousers, priced at £39.50, are causing quite a stir.

Available in white, black and green, the product description says: “Crafted from breezy linen-rich fabric, these trousers are your new sunny-day heroes. They’re cut to a regular fit, with elegant wide legs and a flattering high waist. Front pleats add a crisp feel, while a hook bar and zip fastening give the trousers a clean finish.”

These trousers are part of the store’s new summer collection and they’re already flying off the shelves. There’s plenty of stock in the white and green colours, but the black version is selling out fast – sizes 6,8 and 10 in the regular length are already gone.

The trousers have a 4.5 customer rating. One happy shopper commented: “Love these linen wide leg white trousers, they look amazing with white trainers and my white Marks and Spencer linen top. Had loads of compliments and felt so comfortable in 25-degree heat at the weekend.”

Another said: “Love these trousers! The material is soft and they fit perfectly. Matched them with the linen waistcoat and they look really smart.”

A third customer raved: “These wide-leg linen rich trousers are fantastic. I purchased them in black and white to carry me through spring/summer/autumn. They pair wonderfully with the black jacket, either dressed up or casual.”

However, not all customers were satisfied, with one petite buyer claiming they were too wide and too long. They commented: “Unfortunately had to return as trousers are far too wide. They look ridiculous. Also short length not that short (I’m 5ft 1in) I would have had to turn up if a decent width. Disappointed.”

Another customer echoed this sentiment, stating: “Trousers very long even short length, ordered online and the condition the goods arrived in was terrible, had to iron them to get a good idea what the fit and length would be when wearing.”

The model teams the trousers with a matching linen rich single breasted blazer that is £59. New Look is also offering a variety of linen trousers. These Linen-Blend Wide Leg Tailored Trousers are priced at £34.99 and come in four neutral shades.

Boden is a fashion brand worn by Amanda Holden and Princess Kate – these Westbourne Linen Crop Trousers from the retailer were £90 and are now on sale for £76.50.
