Having established herself as a box office draw, she secured multiple film roles in 2004, amongst them the relatively obscure period comedy A Good Woman, adapted from Oscar Wilde’s cherished play Lady Windermere’s Fan.

Johansson portrays Meg Windermere in this timeless story of betrayal and retribution, focusing on the enigmatic Mrs Erlynne (portrayed by Helen Hunt), who abandons her privileged existence among New York’s elite for Amalfi, Italy, where she becomes involved with Meg’s spouse, the aristocratic Robert Windermere (Mark Umbers).

The film is presently streaming on Pluto TV, where viewers can access an extensive collection of films and television programmes at no cost.

Whilst A Good Woman didn’t garner critical acclaim upon release, it boasts a dedicated following of enthusiasts who maintain the adaptation of Wilde’s timeless comedy deserves attention.

«Helen Hunt will always remain one of the most enchanting voices in cinema, and Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful faces ever to grace the silver screen.»

Another viewer declared: «This was so good what the hell. It literally had me so invested I was screaming, crying, giggling and kicking my feet.»

Another enthusiast maintained it’s criminally underappreciated, declaring: «Okay I really enjoyed this movie, it’s entertaining, visually stunning, and beautiful in its message of love and the twists are crazy, I seriously have no idea how y’all are rating it so low???»
