Rangers vs Tottenham player ratings: Ange Postecoglou nightmare goes on after 1-1 draw | Football | Sport

Tottenham’s run to forget continues, after a draw with Rangers on the European stage.

More pressure is now heaped on Ange Postecoglou, after the Europa League clash Spurs were expected to win slips away. A dismal first half performance became much improved in the second 45, but a 1-1 score line flatters the Premier League men given that a last-gasp disallowed goal for the hosts very nearly changed things considerably.

Express Sport runs the rule over the player ratings…

Fraser Forster – Back in Scotland and showing he’s still got it, but the 36-year-old often looked as unsteady as the troops ahead of him. Pulled off a stunning save to deny Cyriel Dessers late on. 7

Pedro Porro – Usually dependable but absent on a cold, Glaswegian night. Not the driving force Spurs needed. 5

Archie Gray – Out of position and struggling to get to grips with an uncertain system. 5

Radu Dragusin – Clearly doesn’t have the confidence of the manager and it’s starting to show. 4

Destiny Udogie – Wasn’t at the races, caught out of position on several occasions. 5

Rodrigo Bentancur – Threw himself into challenges and helped Spurs find something of a balance in the second period. 6

Yves Bissouma – A brighter offering of the dull array. Completed 100% of his passes in the first half, unlike any of his team-mates. Was lively, but in a disjointed side. 7

James Maddison – An off-key night when Postecoglou needed him to step up and make something happen. 5

Timo Werner – Lots of speed and little end product. Had fleeting moments of good link-up but lacked consistency. 6

Brennan Johnson – Found himself bullied, and visibly frustrated on many occasions. 6

Heung-min Son – Still struggling and looking a shadow of his usual grand self. 5

Subs

Dejan Kulusevski (for Werner) – Massive sub, came on and grabbed the goal for Spurs.

Lucas Bergvall (for Bissouma) – Looked lively, was under clear instruction to run at his man whenever possible

Pape Matar Sarr (for Bentancur) – Robust was called upon.

Dominic Solanke (for Johnson) – Played a role in the super sub brigade in salvaging a draw with Kulusevski
