‘Perfect’ tip to separate eggs easily that people are just finding out

Baking enthusiasts may find themselves even more engrossed in their hobby after discovering the ingenious baking hacks shared by one influencer duo.

Jeff and Lauren, who go by @jeffandlaurenshow on Instagram, have posted a reel showcasing their favourite tricks for achieving “perfect” professional-looking baked goods, and the post has already garnered more than 55,000 likes.

The post is packed with clever tips, such as how to cut parchment paper to fit your baking trays perfectly and how to sepearate eggs with ease.

The video begins with Lauren demonstrating the parchment paper trick, ensuring a perfect fit for any tin. She then reveals how you can melt chocolate on an upside-down pan lid, while Jeff demonstrates how to create perfect ridges on the edge of a pie.

Lauren also suggests placing rice underneath cupcakes when baking them in a tray to “remove excess grease”, and shows how shaking a cookie cutter around the batter ensures perfectly round cookies.

The pair also share a tip on how to “prevent a pie crust from burning” by wrapping it in tin foil, and Lauren recommends cracking an egg on a metal wire to separate the yolk from the white.

Another clever hack Lauren shared involved placing a piece of white bread alongside freshly baked cookies to “keep them soft and chewy”. She also suggested freezing old berries in a ziplock bag for future use in “pie mix, smoothies and compote”.

The post proved to be incredibly popular, garnering over 55,000 likes. Many commenters mentioned that they already employed some of these tricks, with one person writing: “I always have used the sliced bread trick for cookies.” Another added: “I have been lining my loaf tin like this for over 50 years!”

However, one commenter expressed surprise that many people were unaware of these tips, saying: “When I see videos like this I wonder why so many people don’t know these things? It’s like no one had a grandmother.”
