OVO Energy gives huge handout to anyone with a Tesco Clubcard | Personal Finance | Finance


OVO Energy is handing 2,500 free Tesco Clubcard points to all customers who link their accounts.

The freebie is up for grabs for both new and existing OVO customers as part of a new partnership between the brands.

OVO says that customers can collect 2,500 points simply by linking their account, and these points can then be turned into £25 worth of Tesco vouchers.

Existing customers need to log in to their OVO Energy account, click on the profile icon and then ‘Our Partners’, followed by the Tesco Clubcard logo to check their eligibility.

From here, you can link your Tesco Clubcard and OVO account and activate the offer to claim the free reward. Once activated, Tesco will credit your 2,500 Clubcard points within 60 days.

If you’re a new customer, you can link your Tesco Clubcard account when you sign up with OVO and your points should also be credited within 60 days.

To be eligible for the freebie you must:

  • be a new or existing OVO customer on any fixed or standard variable tariff (Pay As You Go customers are not eligible)

  • have a smart meter

  • pay by Direct Debit

  • have a Tesco Clubcard online account

  • have an OVO online account or the OVO mobile app

  • link your Tesco Clubcard to your OVO account (must be 18 years or over)

If you don’t have a Clubcard, you can register for one online for free. You can earn Clubcard points for every £1 spent at Tesco and these can be turned into vouchers, with every 150 points giving you £1.50 in Clubcard vouchers.

The vouchers remain valid for two years and can be spent in store or online. They can be doubled in value when redeemed with one of Tesco’s 100 Reward Partners, which include Disney+, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, ASK Italian, Pizza Express, the RAC and Cineworld.

The 2,500 points can only be claimed once per household and only one Tesco Clubcard can be linked to your OVO account.

The offer is running until June 11, 2025, so there’s still plenty of time left to claim your points.

Customers should note that if you switch energy suppliers during the first 60 days of signing up then you won’t be eligible for the reward.
