A surprise smash hit, Back to the Future took the 1985 box office by storm.
Michael J Fox, who was a recast Marty McFly weeks into production, alongside Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown won over audiences with their time travelling adventure.
As a result, creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis were convinced by Universal to shoot two sequels back-to-back.
The DeLorean took Doc and Marty to the future with flying cars in 2015, back to the 1955 of the original film and to the Wild West of 1885.
The two Bobs have shut down calls over the years to make more Back to the Future movies, resulting in the series being one of the last remaining untouched film trilogies.
