Nottingham Forest see red in VAR rant and label official a Luton fan | Football | Sport

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher felt that Forest should have been awarded a penalty in the first half, when Young blocked Hudson-Odoi’s cross, though the VAR explanation claimed that his arm was in a natural position.

“It’s a penalty,” the Liverpool icon said. “VAR haven’t mentioned it, but his arms are out from his body. He’s making himself bigger. Ashley Young is very lucky, and I think we’ll be hearing from Mark Clattenburg after the game.”

Clattenburg, an ex-Premier League official, is Forest’s official referee analyst and has already questioned some of the decisions made against the team this season.

The match was also marred by a potentially serious injury to Everton forward Beto, who went down in a clash of heads with Morgan Gibbs-White and needed to be stretchered off the pitch in stoppage time, later taken to hospital.
