NATO rushes missiles to Russian border as Vladimir Putin puppet triggers WW3 fears | World | News

NATO countries are rushing to station air defence missiles on Russia’s border as fears of a potential conflict between Moscow and the alliance soar.

The news comes as Vladimir Putin’s right-hand-man Dmitri Medvedev took to X, formerly Twitter, accusing the US of moving towards World War 3 footing.

Speaking on Joe Biden‘s self-comparison with World War 2-era President Franklin D Roosevelt, he said: “Biden is actively and persistently trying to start WWIII. Third, Roosevelt was fighting against fascists, but Biden is fighting for them. He is the United States’ disgrace!”

Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas said that the US-designed missile systems would be operational in his country – which borders Russia – later this year. The systems would rotate between different Baltic nations that sit in Putin’s firing line.

Although it’s unclear which countries would provide air defences he confirmed they would include US-made Patriot surface-to-air missile systems.
