Mum shares ‘life-changing’ Christmas wrapping hacks – ‘easy’

The self-titled “That Practical Mom” revealed her go-to Christmas wrapping hacks that she promised will “change your life”.

Wrapping presents isn’t really always as easy as you think it’s going to be,” she shared to her YouTube channel.

“But today I’m going to share with you some of my favourite present wrapping hacks that is going to make wrapping all of your presents a lot easier.”

On the tutorial, the mum said her “first hack is going to blow your mind” if you’re struggling to get the wrapping paper to go all around a box.

By using the “diagonal wrapping method”, you can identify “a place on the wrapping paper where you can pull up each corner and cover every corner of your box”.

The mum explained that once the first but of wrapping paper is secured to the box with some tape, the next step is to fold in the next corner.

By following this method – best demonstrated in the video – you can ensure the box is fully covered with wrapping paper.

The next tip is to “make a gift bag out of wrapping paper”, which is ideal for “any awkward or unusually shaped items”.

Making a gift bag

  1. Make sure you have enough wrapping paper as if you would wrap the present normally
  2. Fold the wrapping paper into the middle and tape in place
  3. Fold up the bottom the quarter of the way and open it up to fold into triangles
  4. Make two more smaller triangles and stick into place

Now the bottom of the gift bag has been created, you can stand it up and place the present inside.

The fold the top over and either tape together, or poke in two holes to tie ribbon through the gift bag.

One of the most handy tips is to use double stick tape instead of regular tape to make the presents look prettier.

Additional tips include making a bow from wrapping paper, to make cute “little pillow box” that is ideal for jewellery, such as earrings.

Even an old Pringles container can become a gorgeous present container that looks great under the tree.
