Misfits tag-team boxing bout gets KSI vs Tommy Fury main card off to hectic start | Boxing | Sport

The vs main card got off to a hectic start as tag-team boxing made its return to the crossover sphere. NichLmao and Alex Wassabi took on Luis Pineda and BDave for the Misfits tag-team titles. However, the showcase fight was declared a draw with scorecards of 39-37 Pineda and BDave, 39-37 Wassabi and NichLmao and Wassabi while the third judge scored it 38-38.

NichLmao and BDave started off in the ring but didn’t stay in the squared circle for long. Alex Wassabi and Luis Pineda were tagged in after a few seconds of wild swinging as Wassabi flew out the gates and dropped Pineda.

The crafty Mexican veteran spat out his gumshield to save him some time before switching places with BDave, who quickly returned the favour by sending Wassabi to the canvas with a stiff right hand.

In the second round, BDave and Wassabi got right back to it. A good right uppercut sent BDave scurrying back to his corner and after a few tags, Pineda and Wassabi found themselves back in the ring together.

Again, Wassabi hurt Pineda with a quick flurry and was able to do the same to BDave straight after in the third, however, both men stayed on their feet. Going into the fourth, it was nip and tuck. It felt as though the result rested on the final stanza.

Pineda got Wassabi back with a well-timed overhand right and then it seemed BDave may have just nicked it at the death as he stuck it on NichLmao down the home straight.

Yet the judges couldn’t split it. The first scored it 39-37 in favour of Pineda and BDave, the second gave it to NichLmao and Wassabi at 39-37 while the third and final judge had it an even 38-38.

There were no complaints from either side in the immediate aftermath, with all four smiling and embracing once the decision was announced. A rematch looks set to be on the cards in order to decide the rightful owners of the tag-team belts.
