Man Utd are about to raise £64.3m as INEOS eye Yan Diomande and Elliot Anderson | Football | Sport

Manchester United are reportedly hopeful of landing big money from the sales of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford in the summer. It promises to be a crucial off-season for the INEOS leadership, with big decisions to be made on transfers, as well as the vacant managerial position.

United are said to be working from a three-man shortlist for their next managerial appointment, with Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann, and Roberto Martinez being considered. The direction INEOS decide to go in could have a major impact on the club’s transfer business, as United look to strengthen in several areas.

Two of those are midfield and attack, with several outgoings expected to be sanctioned in those departments this summer. Casemiro has already announced his intention to leave the club when his contract expires, while United have multiple on-loan forwards who look likely to leave permanently.

Rahsfod and Hojlund are chief among them, with the duo having spent the current campaign out on loan at Barcelona and Napoli respectively. The good news for United is that their loan spells have gone well, meaning the two clubs look likely to green light permanent deals in the near future.

It’s being reported by Fabrizio Romano that a windfall of £64.3million could be heading their way from the sales, with just over £38m of that raised from Hojlund’s permanent move to Napoli. Over £5m has already been paid to United by the Serie A champions, with the remainder to follow if the buy clause is activated.

Meanwhile, there is a growing confidence that an extra £26m or so will be banked if Barcelona can find the finances for Rashford. The England international has impressed during his stint in Spain, and it’s claimed talks have already started between the relevant parties ahead of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, because of the sheer number of outgoings in the forward department, United are once again being linked with attacking additions. Diomande has emerged as a likely contender, having been lighting up the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig this season. Once again, they’re expected to face competition from the Premier League, with Liverpool said to be in the mix for the Ivorian’s signature.
