Gordon Ramsay adds one ingredient to steak to boost flavour

Gordon Ramsay, the renowned chef and television personality, revealed a surprising secret to cook the perfect steak.

In a viral TikTok video, Ramsay claims that coffee enhances the flavour of the meat. He instructs viewers to heat a pan and add garlic, rosemary and thyme to the coffee-rubbed steak.

In another pan, he prepares a sauce with shallots, garlic and coffee butter. He then adds a splash of bourbon, ensuring to burn off the alcohol, followed by a shot of espresso.

Ramsay then incorporates a few tablespoons of stock and two tablespoons of Demi. At this stage, the fillet should have formed a nice crust.

“The acidity within that coffee really does amplify that flavour. Now, put that into the oven for about four to five minutes,” he advises.

Finally, he adds some cream to the sauce, which results in a “beautiful” colour. The dish is served with mushrooms and sweet potato puree.

It’s clear that people are fascinated by the recipe, as he manages to use coffee in five different ways overall. They were also impressed by his chopping skills, and how he managed to glaze the meat so perfectly.

Most people are used to seeing Ramsay on the screen, as he’s been inspiring chefs for years. From his TV shows to his stints on MasterChef, he really does teach people to cook in the best ways he can.

While few people may think to add coffee to their steak, Ramsay is one person you’d listen to when it comes to cooking advice. Many are keen to give the recipe a whirl.

Since he shared the video, it’s been viewed over 160,000 times, and it left people desperate to try the steak. They couldn’t believe how amazing he is in the kitchen.
