The next big thing in home cleaning, or just an expensive novelty? Robot vacuum cleaners have seen a surge in popularity since the introduction of the Roomba in 2002. Equipped with sensors to navigate and map out homes, these robotic vacuums can be programmed to handle your cleaning tasks while you go about your day.
Many modern models even come with apps loaded with smart features, meaning you don’t even need to be at home to operate them. The Ultenic T10 Lite model takes things a step further than just basic vacuuming – it can also mop your hard floors.
Usually priced at £239.99, but currently available with a 20% discount on Amazon, the T10 Lite is less expensive than its larger counterpart, the T10 Pro. This makes it a great option if you’re looking to try out the tech for the first time without splashing £240, reports the Mirror.
What we don’t
- The app can be slightly confusing to navigate initially.
- Requires dust bags that need to be replaced periodically.
The setup was relatively straightforward with minimal assembly beyond removing stickers and attaching the brush. Setting up the base station, which the T10 Lite returns to for charging and dust collection, it’s important to place it on a hard floor with plenty of space around it – around a 1.5m radius.
Once charged, it set about mapping the ground floor of the house. There was a lot of bumping into things initially, but the vacuum is equipped with a sensor that slows it down when approaching obstacles and a spring-loaded bumper to avoid damaging or knocking anything over. It’s important to leave the floor clear to avoid any mishaps, so be sure to tuck away any rogue shoelaces or wires.
I noticed that the vacuum had difficulty navigating the doormat, often dragging it around the hallway, so I’ve started removing it prior to initiating a clean. The mop function is straightforward to operate – simply slide off the water tank, fill it with warm water, then reattach it to the device.
You can even designate ‘no mop’ areas on your map to sidestep the hazard of damp carpets as your new assistant traverses the home. The microfibre mop cloth detaches easily for hassle-free machine washing, and an extra one was provided, so they should last a good while.

After nearly a month of using the T10 Lite, it has become a staple in our cleaning regimen. It’s such a relief to set it up in the morning before work and come back to clean, freshly hoovered floors.
Having utilised it for several weeks, I’d loathe to be without it now. However, during its most recent use, I was disheartened to hear an alert from the base station notifying me that the bag needed replacing.
That’s correct – the T10 Lite requires dust bags. Whilst they can be purchased online, households with high footfall and pets like mine may need to replace the bag as frequently as every fortnight, with expenses quickly mounting.
Replacement dust bags designed for the T10 Lite are available from Ultenic’s website, priced at £10.99 for three, or £14.99 for six – equating to £2.50 per bag in the most economical pack.
If you’re looking for a robot vacuum with a mop function, without the need to change a bag, The Mirror’s Sam Jones rated the Hoover 2-In-1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner & Mop – HG4 Hydro, praising it for being “packed with fabulously intelligent technology for the price”.
Elsewhere, Shark’s robot vacuum is popular with shoppers, it’s currently on offer at £299 down from £499, but it does boast a self-emptying feature that holds up to 60 days of dirt and debris.
