Full list of 19 world leaders in London for emergency Ukraine summit | World | News

Sir Keir Starmer has gathered 18 other world leaders in London for crunch talks over a deal for peace in Ukraine.

Discussions are taking place at Lancaster House after a row between Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump in the Oval Office earlier this week.

Trump said he would meet with Zelensky again once he was “ready for peace” after telling him he was “gambling with World War 3”.

In attendance are Sir Keir, President Zelensky, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, and Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.

Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is also there, along with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz.

Joining them are the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez; Finnish President, Alexander Stubb and the presidents of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen; and European Council, Antonio Costa.

Sir Keir also held an online meeting with President Alar Karis of Estonia, Prime Minister Evika Siliņa of Latvia and President Gitanas Nausėda of Lithuania on Sunday morning.

Ahead of the summit, Mr Tusk said: “This is a paradox, listen to how it sounds: 500million Europeans ask 300million Americans to protect them from 140million Russians.”

He added: “If you know how to count, rely on yourself.

Europe currently suffers from a “deficit of imagination and courage”, the Polish PM believes.

Sir Keir urged leaders to step up at a “once in a generation moment” for security in Europe at the beginning of the summit.

The Prime Minister has also announced it has been agreed that “a group” will work “with Ukraine on a plan to stop the the fighting and then discuss that with the US and take it forward together”.

Ukraine’s allies need to also continue their support in the moment, Sir Keir said.

He added: “Even while Russia talks about peace, they are continuing their relentless aggression.”

The PM concluded: “That is the agenda and we need to agree what steps come out of this meeting to deliver peace through strength for the benefit of all.”

Mr Zelensky is due to meet the King later today.
