F1 LIVE: Red Bull tease Max Verstappen exit as ‘worrying’ Lewis Hamilton statement issued | F1 | Sport

F1 icon David Coulthard has insisted Lewis Hamilton wasn’t settled with his car at Mercedes and has described the situation as “worrying”.

Mercedes have been well off the pace over the last three seasons, with Hamilton ditching the team to sign for Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season.

Coulthard was asked about Hamilton’s move to Ferrari during an appearance on the RacingNews365 podcast. And he explained: “Somehow you always find a way to exploit whatever you’ve got to the best of your ability.

“And I think the exceptionals just do that to a higher level. So, the worrying thing about Lewis in the last couple of years was just he didn’t seem to be as settled with the performance profile of the car.

“Now, that’s either because he had racing driver fatigue, he’s been doing it for so long that he needed that change.

“There are so many things to be excited about that I think that we just can’t write the final chapter.”
