Max Verstappen has warned Red Bull that they simply won’t be able to replace design guru Adrian Newey.

There has been speculation that the 65-year-old could follow Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, or leave the team depending on the outcome of the Christian Horner investigation.

However, reports indicate that Newey is set to stay put.

And that’s just as well, with Verstappen adamant the chief technical officer is irreplaceable.

“There is nobody like Adrian,” the Dutchman told Motorsport-Magazin. “That’s also the beauty of the fact that everyone is different and everyone achieves success in a different way.

“So no, you can’t replace Adrian, because there is only one Adrian. But it is wonderful to see new talent coming in that he has been working with for a long time. And it’s wonderful to see how this talent goes its own way and how we achieve what we achieve.”
