Beau Greaves has admitted she receives “hate” from some people after making a name for herself in darts.

The three-time women’s world champion is due to face Daryl Gurney in her opening match at the World Darts Championship on Friday evening after defeating Luke Littler twice this year.

But ahead of the tournament, she told the Daily Mail: “Some people have started recognising me, which is pretty weird.

“I mean, I just feel like a normal girl and I don’t feel any different than what I did before I beat Luke. It makes me laugh.”

The 21-year-old then conceded: “There is a little bit of hate that comes with it. It’s either about the way you look or how you play or stuff like that. It’s just social media, isn’t it? But what people say doesn’t really bother me, because I’m happy in my life.”
