Chelsea player ratings vs Noah: Mudryk dazzles as trio score 8/10 | Football | Sport

Chelsea thrashed Armenian hopefuls FC Noah 8-0 to continue their perfect start to the Conference League. Able to rest Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson and co, Enzo Maresca provided an opportunity to those who have not enjoyed much Premier League action – and many of them impressed.

The Blues took a huge 6-0 advantage into half-time, with Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi, Joao Felix (twice) and Mykhaylo Mudryk all on target. Mudryk’s blistering strike into the top corner was the highlight of a hugely one-sided game.

A Christopher Nkunku brace added gloss to the scoreline in the second half. This was a clash between annual wage bills for 2023 of £404million and £721,000.

Express Sport’s player ratings have taken that disparity into account with our player ratings. Here is how we scored each Chelsea player.

Filip Jorgensen – 6/10

In the opening minutes of the game and with little evidence of exactly how this game would pan out, Jorgensen made a strong save to deny a long-distance strike. He was an interested spectator for the next 89 minutes.

Axel Disasi – 7

Chelsea’s defenders were more involved in the attacking half of the pitch for most of the game. Disasi headed home the third goal after 18 minutes.

Benoit Badiashile – 6

Comfortable in possession under little pressure, Badiashile had a solid game. The centre-back saw a wayward volley fly over the bar as he tried to get in on the act early in the second half.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 7

It seemed like a really important goal when Tosin broke the deadlock in the 12th minute. Little did anyone know just how comfortable Chelsea would be.

Ramon Veiga – 7

Veiga was key to several of Chelsea’s attacks, ensuring he found the likes of Felix and Christopher Nkunku between the lines.

Enzo Fernandez – 8

Fernandez has lost his regular starting role in the Premier League to Romeo Lavia and provided a positive response to being dropped. The Argentine departed the game at half-time with three assists and Maresca has been sent a clear message that the midfield star wants his place back.

Christopher Nkunku – 6

Nkunku eventually scored and even bagged a brace with a hugely contentious penalty – but he snapped at too many chances and looked slightly bereft of confidence. Even his 69th-minute goal came after the Frenchman missed a one-on-one before bobbling the ball over the line. This was not exactly the performance that gets you ahead of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in more competitive action.

Joao Felix – 8

Everything good came through Felix, who provided two excellent finishes and a lovely chipped pass in the build-up to Nkunku’s goal. An eight feels slightly generous given the opposition – but we’ll give the Portugal star the benefit of the doubt.

Tyrique George – 8

An eight that does not feel generous at all is one for George, who enjoyed an excellent full senior debut. Express Sport had called for the 18-year-old to start in the build-up and he showed everything those who have raved about his academy performances have highlighted. An excellent dribbler with the passing and technical ability of a No. 10, George is one to watch.

Mykhaylo Mudryk – 7

A stunning curling effort was the pick of the goals. Mudryk provided a threat on the left-hand side.

Marc Guiu – 7

Striker Guiu finally bagged his first Chelsea goal, stealing possession before firing into the net. He was withdrawn at half-time.

Substitutes

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (for Fernandez, ’46) – 6

Dewsbury-Hall contributed positively in attack and won a penalty following his half-time introduction.

Cesare Casadei (for Guiu, ’46) – 6

The Italian played in the deepest midfield position and had very little to do.

Carney Chukwuemeka (for George, ’68) – 6

Chukwuemeka should have scored when he blazed wide from inside the box in the second half.

Sam Rak-Sakyi (for Nkunku, ’79) – N/A

Making his debut for Chelsea, the versatile Rak-Sakyi had little time to make much of an impact with the score 8-0 upon his introduction.
