Aryna Sabalenka gets engaged to rich boyfriend with jaw-dropping gift | Tennis | Sport
Aryna Sabalenka has shared the moment she got engaged to her super-rich boyfriend, who gave her a huge diamond ring. Surrounded by flowers and candles, the women’s tennis number one looked genuinely shocked as Georgios Frangulis got down on one knee to pop the question.
Surrounded by flowers and candles – and someone with a phone to capture the big moment – Sabalenka, 27, said yes before the pair embraced. The Instagram-shared moment then cut to a close-up of the hefty ring on her finger. In sharing the video, Sabalenka wrote: “You & me, forever 3.3.26,” with infinity, ring and white heart emojis. In further clips on her Instagram story, Sabalenka showed off the ring again and wrote: “Well, I obviously had NO idea this was happening tonight [laughing face emoji].”
The engagement shouldn’t come as a major surprise to anyone, given a major hint from Sabalenka herself after winning the Brisbane International tournament in January. She said: “As always, last but not least, thank you my team for handling me.

“I’m really the toughest one to handle and you guys are the toughest people in the world if you can handle me. Thank you, guys, I love you. And thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully, soon I’ll call you somehow else, right?”
Sabalenka and Frangulis, a Brazilian-born entrepreneur of Greek descent, made their relationship official after the couple were spotted together at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Italy in 2024. At the time, Frangulis’s Oakberry company sponsored the Haas F1 team before switching to Alpine last year.
Frangulis, 37, founded Oakberry, a healthy fast-food company specialising in acai bowls and smoothies, in 2016. Over the last decade, the brand has expanded to more than 35 countries.
The couple are also linked commercially as Oakberry sponsors Sabalenka. Upon announcing the deal, Frangulis said: “Aryna Sabalenka is a great example of the future of tennis and we are working closely with her to create some really exciting things over the years.”
His fortune is estimated at around £80million, mainly through Oakberry. That is substantially larger than Sabalenka’s net worth, which Forbes reports to be around £14.5m.
