Pope Leo XIV celebrated his first mass as pontiff as some of the cardinal electors shared what led them to his selection. NBC News’ Lester Holt spoke with Cardinal Blase Cupich, who said the cardinal electors were looking for someone multilingual, who had lived on more than one continent and had pastoral ministry experience.
