Harry Styles reviews call album ‘style over substance’ ahead of release | Music | Entertainment

Harry Styles fans are eagerly awaiting the release of his fourth solo album, ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,’ which is due to come out tomorrow, Friday, March 6, 2026. But before One Direction fans get their hands on it, plenty of reviews have been released.

The reviews have gone on to rave about the record’s unique sound, as well as Harry’s courage to colour outside of the lines. But not all the reviews were positive.

Beginning with the BBC, the critic said Harry Styles “sings of relationships that are constantly off balance” while “second-guessing people’s intentions”.

They add: “On the aptly-titled [song] Pop, he rejects the ‘squeaky clean fantasy’ of his One Direction days, with oblique lyrics that seem to address darker desires.”

The Guardian praised Styles’ bravery, saying: “In an era when some pop stars seem desperate to cling on to their place at the top by any means necessary – from doing down rivals in song to boosting their chart placings by drip-feeding diehard fans with umpteen limited editions – there’s something oddly laudable about an album that doesn’t seem desperate to be loved.”

They added: “Even if the results are occasionally a little too opaque for their own good.”

The Telegraph’s critic was not amused by the album, though. They wrote: “It sometimes sounds like an episode of Emily in Paris set to sub bass and cool beats. Yet it is expected to land like Godzilla crushing everything in its path.”

They added: “Who needs substance when you have an abundance of style?”

With that said, The Times gave the album four stars, praising how it sounded like a group of people “making music together and enjoying it”.

The record comes out just a few months before the star’s world tour, in which the 32-year-old will be playing some enormous stadiums.

This includes London’s Wembley Stadium no fewer than 12 times. And tickets can still be purchased now if fans know where to look.

Harry Styles fans can still buy tickets to his upcoming Together Together Tour kicking off in June.

The star’s official tickets sold out in no time upon release – apart from those on Seat Unique, a VIP and hospitality-focused website.

Here, fans can buy gig tickets with added bonuses, such as early access to the venue, food and drinks packages, after-parties and more.

The websites with the most abundant tickets are resale retailers, however.

This includes the likes of viagogo and StubHub, both of which have plenty of tickets on sale now for around £100 each.
