Beauty product recalled over potential fire risk — ‘stop using immediately’
A hair care brand has issued a product recall of one of its hair dryer products, over a potential issue that could pose a fire risk. Cloud Nine, which makes hair dryers, hair straighteners and other hair styling products, has issued the recall as a precautionary measure.
The travel dryer affected was given to customers as a free gift with a purchase. The brand assured that no injuries have been recorded, and that this is a precautionary measure. The Office for Product Safety and Standards wrote in a statement: “The product presents a risk of fire as it may overheat during use. This could lead to the product igniting and catching fire, presenting a risk to users.
“The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.”

The brand explained the recall only affects the Cloud Nine XDM 3600 Travel Dryer that “was included as a free gift with your purchase”. Cloud Nine urged customers to contact its Customer Experience team if you are unsure about whether you’re impacted by the recall.
Cloud Nine assured that all other products are not impacted and continue to be safe to use.
