Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm following his arrival at a UK airport. The 30-year-old was detained at Luton Airport on January 30 after returning from Bulgaria, where he currently plays for Lokomotiv Sofia.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed to The Sun: “Jordon Ibe has been charged with actual bodily harm. The charge relates to an assault alleged to have taken place on Sunday December 14, 2025. He was arrested at Luton Airport on Friday January 30 and taken into custody.”

The alleged incident is said to have occurred in December. The former England Under-21 international has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6.

Ibe departed Sittingbourne FC, competing in the eighth tier of English football, to sign for Bulgarian top-flight side Lokomotiv Sofia in November.

The winger established his reputation at Liverpool, representing the club from 2012 to 2016, before securing a move to Bournemouth for a club-record £15 million transfer fee.

He is now representing the 11th club of his professional career, having previously featured in non-league football following a spell in Turkey with Adanaspor.

Ibe, who made 58 appearances for Liverpool and scored four goals, put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Lokomotiv Sofia in December.

At the time, the Bulgarian club released a statement, declaring: “After a few difficult seasons, Jordan is ready to revive his career, and we all believe that this will happen at Lokomotiv. The management of Lokomotiv wishes Jordon Ibe much health, happiness and success with the red and black jersey.”
