JD Vance’s Cincinnati home swarmed by police as ‘several broken windows’ spotted | World | News
Police lanched an investigation following an alleged incident at the home in Cincinnati of US Vice President JD Vance. Several windows were found to be broken and officers were spotted searching the area around his house this morning, January 5, according to WCPO.
U.S. Secret Service called for police at 12. 15am after seeing someone “running eastbound,” a Cincinnati police dispatcher told FOX19 NOW. Secret Service officers were on scene earlier but are no longer present. The force was seen shining flashlights at the broken glass.
Police say at least one individual is in custody, it is unknown at this time if they have been charged.
The property, which is owned by the Vice President and overlooks the Ohio River, showed visible damage Monday morning.
Video from the scene shows large holes in several windows, while officers were seen patrolling the area and documenting the damage.
Vance had been in Cincinnati over the past week but departed the city Sunday afternoon. He splashed out just under $1.4 million on the home and it spans almost 2.3 acres.
The incident comes after restrictions around Vance’s Cincinnati home were lifted. Roads were closed between December 29 and January 4.
