Elemis pro-collagen cleanser loved by skin expert on sale

A celebrity skin expert has spotted some money-saving deals on his “favourite cleanser” and he took it to social media to share how fans can get the most out of Black Friday sale.

Scott McGlynn, from Caerphilly, Wales, who boasts a huge 234,000 following online, recommended the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm for both hydrating and anti-ageing benefits. Sharing on TikTok, she said: “I’ve been using it for years and it goes everywhere with me. I love a deal as well and I found two different deals online for this little bad boy. This cleansing balm is perfect for keeping your skin hydrated this winter, no breakouts, no dryness.”

He found the product in Boots’ Black Friday sale for £36.75 instead of £49 for a 100g tub, adding: “If anyone had used this before, you know how long it lasts. It’s gonna last you a long time, invest in it.” Shoppers can save £12 and collect Advantage Card points along with the purchase, which can then be converted to spend in store and online.

A second alternative Scott found is on Elemis’ website. He shared a screenshot of the phone: “You can see it’s £49 but at the bottom, you can see a code to get 20% off so this should be around £39.20 mark but you do get a free gift as well. So it’s two different deals – depends if you want to get a free gift or save a couple of pounds.

“For me, I’d go on the Elemis website, get the free gift. I don’t know what the free gift is and you get free UK delivery. You can not go wrong, guys.” At the time of writing, the free gift code cannot be found online so customers will only enjoy a 20% off discount on Elemis website.

The balm-to-oil-to-milk cleanser has a unique formula that helps you to remove long-wear makeup, daily grime and surface pollutants effortlessly as it deep cleanses and softens as a facial mask.

With the scent of what shoppers described as “spa in a jar”, the trio of nourishing plant oils including elderberry, optimega and bee-friendly starflower oil gives a pleasant aroma. And the superhero antioxidant, algae Padina Pavonica, works to fights against free radicals caused by environmental stressors and protect skin cells from premature ageing.

Nearly 6,000 shoppers reviewed the cleansing balm, giving a high 4.9 out of five stars. One shopper in her 60s raved about the anti-ageing benefits from using the product, saying: “The texture is very thick and silky. I use a soft cleansing cloth over my face and it really takes away my make up very well even my mascara without giving irritated skin feeling and then I rinse my face with warm water.

“I can feel that my skin is smoother, more hydrated, softer, more plumped and give a glowing look. And I really love the scents, very soothing and calming.”

Another said it’s her secret to clean, clearer skin and added: “Love this product, I have bought it many times, it never fails to clear my make up and since I have been using it, I no longer suffer with blemishes.”

But not everyone enjoyed the oil texture as one shopper complained: “I have no idea how this can be considered cleansing. It is like a thick oil that goes on your face and does not rinse off.”

If cleansing balm is too tricky to remove makeup, micellar water is comparatively an easy alternative. Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water is a gentle-to-skin makeup remover that can take off waterproof mascara with single wipe. It’s currently on Amazon sale at £8.99 instead of £16. Coco & Eve’s Cleansing Oil is great for nourishing, deep cleanse without leaving your skin feeling dry. It’s reduced from £21 to £14.70 on Amazon.
