Boots £10 Tuesday sale includes celeb-approved Liz Earle eye lotion
Boots’s weekly sale is back and this time shoppers can pick up an eye lotion from Liz Earle which cleanses and soothes.
The Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion is both a cleanser and a mask, loved by TV star Holly Willoughby, who previously called it her “secret for looking like she’s had 8 hours sleep”.
Reduced from £18 to £10 online only, the celeb-approved Liz Earle lotion is infused with a skin-calming blend of aloe vera, cornflower, eyebright and witch hazel. Holly said: “I put it on two cotton wool pads and then I just hold them on my eyes for about 30 seconds. I feel like it just takes down that redness and that puffiness.”
One shopper echoed Holly and said: “I have used this product for years. I suffer from terrible hay fever from March onwards, it helps soothe sore, itchy and painful eyes enormously.”
“It’s a must-have in my household! I suffer with seasonal allergies and this is the perfect remedy for when I experience my flare-ups,” another shared and she said in summer, it’s best to keep it in the fridge to “maximise its benefits”.
Apart from the soothing properties, the Eye Lotion also does a brilliant job on removing last traces of makeup like eye liner and mascara, with one saying: “My favourite eye makeup remover, very gentle and doesn’t sting at all, highly recommended.”
The light and non-oily herbal formula promises “instantly revitalised eyes” and 83% of testers said they “feel awakened in the mornings after using the lotion”.
Some Liz Earle fans, however, said the smell is different since the packaging was changed. One mentioned: “Was so pleased when I heard that the original eyebright had been brought back – sorry but it is definitely different and the smell is awful.”
A second said: “I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got this, perhaps a nice cool soothing cream or gel? But instead it’s almost like a bottle of water and very runny. More like make up remover than a lotion of any sort.”
The 150ml bottle is now reduced to £10 for one day only and it can last for a good few months, but if you prefer masks, Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hydra-Gel Eye Patches are mess-free and easy to use.
Reduced to £39.75 on Face the Future, the cooling gel mask is filled with hyaluronic acid, which leaves your undereye area plumped and smooth.
