The wife of an imprisoned Russian dissiedent has spoken out agaist what she believes to be the murder “in cold blood” of Alexei Navalny by Vladimir Putin.

Evgenia Kara-Murza, wife of imprisoned Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murza, said she believes Putin’s fiercest rival was murdered, regardless of what the medical documents say.

Speaking to Fox News Live, Kara-Murza said: “Vladimir Putin murdered Alexei Navalny in cold blood because Vladimir Putin is someone who, after almost a quarter of a century of impunity, ended up believing himself to be somehow untouchable.”

Navalny’s death was announced on Friday by Russia‘s Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), who claimed the opposition leader fell ill after a walk, subsequently losing consciousness and dying. Medical personnel reportedly tried to help but it was too late.

Russian state news agency TASS reported: “All necessary resuscitation procedures have been carried out without any positive results. The ambulance crew pronounced the convict dead. The cause of death is being established.”
